I have to rely on the media to report on why things happen in the government. That's how this society works. For better or worse, the space media include you.

NASA Watch has rarely criticized or seriously questioned anything O'Keefe or this administration has done in the last three years. (Much as Fox News has been a booster of the current government.) So, that makes people skeptical, especially when the stated reasons seem a bit suspect.

I would encourage you to visit the Washington Post web site (www.washingtonpost.com) and review some of the transcripts of the live discussions that the editors and reporters have with their readers. The readers express skepticism about the reporting, the government's official explanations for things, etc., etc.

The responses are always very professional. They don't respond to readers with "up yours" or "who the hell are you to ask me this question?" The reporters understand that they don't know everything, they're not always right, and that readers are entitled to their views even if the reporters think they're wrong. They also view this discussion as healthy in this society.

So, why did O'Keefe say about why he embraced the robotic mission after getting the AoA briefing?
