Fezeka Senior Secondary School

Guguleto, South Africa

March 26, 2002

Permission to Dream's partnership with the A-MAN International Science and Discovery Center recently extended to South Africa.  Hal and Bettye Walker of A-MAN broadened the astronomy program with a joint project founded with two schools in Capetown.  The first of these is the Fezeka Senior Secondary School in Guguleto township.  At the telescope donation ceremony, the Western Cape Minister of Education, Mr. A. Guam, was present and spoke about the interest of the educational ministry to promote space sciences in South Africa schools.  Over 400 students were in attendance.  The dedication ceremony along with photos of students with the telescope appeared in the local Cape Town newspapers.
