Below are links to web sites which contain information about Near Earth Objects and the effort to learn more about them. Presented are sites with NEO resources, general information, specific info on comets and asteroids, and sites that are journals and newsletters related to NEOs. If you know of a web site related to NEOs that is not listed here, please let us know by e-mailing project manager Richard Haase at findcomets@aol.com. |

Apogee Books "The" space book company, publishers of the NASA Mission Reports, is run by former Watch project manager Richard Godwin along with his brother Robert Godwin. A portion of the profits from the sale of Apogee Books goes to fund The Watch.
Kirsch Foundation A foundation that not only gives grants to organizations involved in NEO research and detection, but also is involved in legislative efforts to support NEO detection. This links straight to their NEO page.
Near Earth Object Program General information provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration about Near Earth Objects. This site contains a current list of all observations of Near Earth Objects reported from around the world. (The list is updated frequently for NASA by the Astrophysicists at the Minor Planet Center.) This site also shows The Torino Scale which enables experts to describe to the public the seriousness of the hazard a particular comet or asteroid may present. It ranges from "0" (no likelihood of a collision with Earth) to "10" (a collision capable of global catastrophe.)
NEO Information Centre The "Report of the Task Force on Potentially Hazardous Near Earth Objects" published by The British National Space Centre is contained here. The Task Force composed of both civilian and military astrophysicists from Europe and the United States, was set up by the Minister of Science, United Kingdom, to communicate issues to the public, and report to the Director General of the BNSC.
Pan-STARRS The Panoramic Survey Telescope & Rapid Response System is an innovative design for a wide-field imaging system being developed at the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy.
