Nyack, NY, April 23, 2008 The Space Frontier Foundation has agreed to co-sponsor the 2008 Responsive Access to Space Technology Exchange (RASTE), May 19-23 in Dayton, Ohio at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The primary sponsor of RASTE is the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory.
You are invited to participate in RASTE, which will bring together key members of the space community and provide an opportunity to share, exchange and transition technology for the next generation space launch vehicles. By establishing and fostering this open exchange of information between engineers, developers, planners, and managers in the community, RASTE promotes collaboration accelerating the development of the emerging commercial space launch industry.
The RASTE targets partnerships for technologies that will be ready for transition within the next two years (Technology Readiness Level (TRL) for the technology is 4 to 6). Commencing with a Plenary Session open to all attendees, followed by technical sessions, as well as closed-door opportunities for discussion between small and large business, RASTE includes discussion of the following technologies: Responsive Launch Space Vehicle Materials and Material Testing & Processing Technologies, Responsive Launch Space Vehicle Propulsion Technologies, Responsive Launch Space Vehicle Integration Technologies, Integrated System Health Management Guidance and Control, and Responsive Launch Space Vehicle System Integrators. Technical tours at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will also be offered. Tour dates are Monday, May 19 and Friday, May 23. Attendees participating in the closed door discussions may be asked to sign non-disclosure agreements.
